What Happens
We want to start with the statistics. California has hundreds of thousands of vehicle accidents annually. For the latest reporting year, there were nearly 12,000 serious injuries and over 3,600 fatalities due to those accidents.
Nationally, according to the same report, “22.5 percent of weekend, nighttime drivers tested positive for drugs that could cause driving impairment.”
Drug-impaired driving can be just as deadly as drunk driving, which is responsible for more than 25 percent of all traffic-related fatalities in California annually.
We also know that hundreds of thousands of people are injured nationwide each year due to distracted drivers. As technology becomes more and more a part of our lives, it is common to see people staring at their phones while driving when they should be watching the roadway.
Californians continue to cite speeding and aggressive drivers as their main safety concerns when they hit the road. This is understandable, as many wrecks are avoidable when people follow the speed limit.
Most people do not realize that their insurance will only cover so much. Yes, some of your medical expenses will get covered, but what about lost income if you have to miss work?
What if you are disabled and not able to return to work for a short or long time period?
There are many unexpected costs that come after vehicle accident injuries.
