This Incident Certainly Made The News
When the Mayor of Inglewood is involved in a crash that nearly kills an LAPD officer, the news is certainly going to be all over it. The incident happened at the end of April when Major John Butts, a former police chief, was making a left-hand turn into the entrance of USC.
The video is chilling. In it, you can see that the rear of his black SUV was clipped by a sedan in the oncoming lane. This sent the mayor’s vehicle spinning out of control and right into an unsuspecting LAPD motorcycle officer who ended up in a fountain.
